Suchul Kang

Dr. Suchul Kang joined Prof. Elfatih Eltahir’s group at SMART in March 2016 as a postdoctoral researcher. He received Ph.D. in atmospheric science from Pusan National University in 2015. Before he joined SMART, he worked at APEC Climate Center (APCC) as a researcher for 6 years. In APEC Climate Center, he had worked on the development of APCC Seamless Prediction System which is fully coupled land-ocean-atmosphere-sea ice model. He also worked on the improvement of regional climate prediction over East Asia through the combination of regional climate model, RegCM4 and the statistical bias correction method. Now, his work at SMART mainly focuses on regional climate change and its potential impact over the Maritime Continent using MIT Regional Climate Model (MRCM).
